Lymphedema management


Service Description

Lymphedema management and treatment is called Complete decongestive therapy (CDT) and is a noninvasive treatment for lymphedema. The therapy includes a variety of techniques, including manual lymphatic drainage, compression, exercise, and skin care. Management and treatment is performed by a certified therapist with appropriate resources and supportive education to best treat, a treatment plan is individualized and adjusted based on the needs and recovery of the client. An initial visit is required to allow for the necessary time needed to create a treatment plan and complete a treatment if appropriate. A complete medical history will be needed prior to an individualized treatment plan. There are some conditions and circumstances where CDT is not recommended: If you have a heart condition, kidney failure or a history of blood clots. Clearance from your physician may be required.
