Tychele Hulett PTA, LMT, CLT, CCST
Founder of CALM
My career in healthcare began in conventional medicine with a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. After working as a pharmacy technician for several years, I relocated to Arizona from Hawaii. It was then that I began working in physical therapy and oncology rehabilitation as a Physical Therapy Technician. During this time, I pursued a degree in physical therapy to become a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), earning certifications that complemented my background in oncology rehabilitation and recovery.
While working in outpatient physical therapy, I assisted a Certified Lymphatic Therapist (CLT) for two years before becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and Certified Lymphatic Therapist (CLT) myself in 2013. During this time, I became more aware of therapeutic massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), and the benefits of holistic medicine. I have over ten years of experience managing a lymphatic and lymphedema program at an outpatient orthopedic and neurological clinic in Gilbert, Arizona, where I treated all types of lymphatic complications, including those related to cancer, post-op surgical recovery, vascular issues, hormonal imbalances, lymphedema, and lipedema. More recently, I pursued additional certifications in post-op plastic surgery, becoming a Certified Cosmetic Surgery Therapist (CCST), which enables me to treat the ever-growing cosmetic and reconstructive surgery population.

I started CALM—Carried Away Lymphatic Massage LLC—just over two years ago after recognizing the need for patients to receive full-body lymphatic drainage. Having worked in conventional care, I realized that we were doing a disservice to the community of patients with lymphatic issues by only treating the body parts insurance dictated as the “affected areas.” This approach left the rest of the lymphatic system untouched, preventing full recovery. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to start CALM. It has been incredibly rewarding to be free from the restrictions of conventional care, allowing us to treat the whole lymphatic system and the whole person. I have worked hard to create a relaxing yet healing environment, staffed with knowledgeable and CERTIFIED therapists who can address the needs of people with lymphatic conditions and other medical conditions.

I have been a licensed massage therapist for the past 20 years. During that time, I decided to continue my education in physical therapy and received my licenses as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in 2010. I was working at an impatient post-acute rehab center in Mesa as a licensed PTA when I was introduced to lymphatic therapy. I enjoyed working with a variety of post op conditions as well as neuro and reconstructive surgery. It was during this time that we recognized the need for a lymphatic team to assist with the growing number of lymphedema cases and post-surgical swelling. In 2019 I completed my Certified Lymphedema/Lymphatic Certification (CLT) and began implementing a lymphatic/ Lymphedema program. I lead the lymphatic team and enjoy working with this population.
After 13 years working in inpatient acute care, I wanted to expand my knowledge base and understanding of cancer and the treatments. After a year working at an outpatient physical therapy clinic in Gilbert, AZ specializing in oncology rehab and lymphedema, the business was sold. Wanting to continue serving this population, I joined Tychele at Carried Away Lymphatic Massage LLC (CALM). I enjoy the full body approach to lymphatic care as well as the continuation of education and updated tools that is the CALM therapist approach. During my time at CALM, I have become certified in Electro-Lymphatic drainage (ELD) and hyper aware of the need for safer, chemical free, and cancer free products.
I began educating myself in herbology and how to make safer products to help guide and assist the lymphatic system and further detoxify. This has turned into a passion that I love to share with all patients to help them live a less toxic life while undergoing cancer treatments and after.

While I'm newer to the realm of licensed massage, lymphatics and oncology work (licensed in 2022), oncology is the reason I became a massage therapist. After years as a yoga instructor and Thai bodyworker, I saw in increase of people who are dealing with auto immune disease, cancer and other chronic health diagnoses. During my education in body work I was recruited to work with a Certified Lymphedema/ Lymphatic Therapist (CLT). I continued additional education in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and received my certification as a Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist (MLD-C). This allowed me additional training in Electro-Lymphatic Drainage (ELD) and oncology massage when I started working with a therapist in Tempe who offered these massage treatments.
After two years, I transferred with the Tempe practice to Carried Away Lymphatic Massage, CALM, where I feel honored to walk along others on their healing path and help to customize work that allows them to feel supported, engaged, heard and connected. I always bring a mixed bag of tricks to any session and adore learning deeply about each client in order to provide a catered approach for each individual.
